SpotyMap press kit

In short

SpotyMap is an Android and iPhone app that shows useful public places near you on a map: drinking fountains, public toilets, basketball courts and football pitches, playgrounds, dog parks, skate parks, picnic tables, bicycle repair stations, public bookcases and more. The data comes from OpenStreetMap, the open map made by volunteers all over the world. The app is free and needs no account.

What it does

Where the data comes from

All places come from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL licence). SpotyMap doesn't show places tagged as private, customers-only, disused or broken. The data depends on how much volunteers have mapped an area: a place may be closed or gone, which is why the app always reminds people to check on site.
